Knitting is among one of the handicraft arts that has recently been brought back into popularity among young people. This technique allows the artist to form designs from the most basic foundation, yarn. This method of creation is very instrumental in learning about the design process, it allows the artist to make a personal connection with the textile that has been fabricated. To make it even more personal, the artist may choose to decorate the piece with text. In my case, I have paired these knitted mittens with a quote from a dear family member who would always say, “warm hands make a warm heart”.
